Compare ideas in an AI Idea Tournament
Put ideas head to head in a bracket and get a winner together with the reasoning that killed each loser.
- Participants
- 4–16 ideas, 1–5 judges
- You get
- Champion spec and kill cards
What makes it different
Every match runs the same frozen protocol with position bias mitigated by construction, so a late round is comparable with an early one.
Idea Tournament
One match at a time, with the reasons preserved.
Bring four to sixteen ideas and a goal for judging them. A seeding pass places the ideas into a bracket; the matches then compare ideas head to head rather than treating a standalone score as a universal ranking.
Each match follows the same frozen protocol: openings, rebuttals, judge ballots and a tally. The selected depth determines the judging setup and how position bias is mitigated. Winners advance through the bracket.
The result includes a champion spec and kill cards explaining why the losing ideas fell short and what would need to change. The outcome depends on the ideas and matchups you supplied; it is neither a market forecast nor a tool for ranking people.
When to use it
Narrow a backlog of product concepts or campaign ideas by making them defend their value against one another under the same goal.
Example brief
Illustrative input, not a completed run or measured result.
Compare four onboarding features: a setup checklist, an interactive tour, contextual help and a starter template. Our goal is to help a small team's new administrator reach a first useful result. Give each idea the same implementation constraints and available evidence, then compare them under that goal. Treat effort estimates as assumptions unless supported by our brief.
What to inspect in the report
Follow the bracket and read the kill cards to understand each elimination. Check whether the champion spec addresses the goal and constraints you supplied. Winning this bracket does not establish customer preference or predict adoption.
Explore reactions to the shortlisted concept in a simulated Focus Group →What you take away
A champion spec, the tournament’s bracket and standings, and kill cards explaining why each eliminated idea lost.
Where it stops
The bracket ranks the ideas you entered. It cannot tell you about the one you did not.
